While I have never used any of the linked tools, the settings adjust tip found there may be of service to you. Your mileage may vary but I hope you succeed and post back how you resolved it for the rest of us in case we stumble into the same issue later.

Is "internet stick" canadian speak for "USB CELLULAR MODEM" commonly called an aircard

Using fire fox, sometimes hiting the page backbutton will bring back the edit page with the post in the composing window, I can then try again, sometimes I will copy my post then reopen the thread and try again, this way I don't have to retype the post

That may appear to be the case.

With further use, misuse and observation I am realizing that the connection may not be lost. I say this because I get a lot of "Page cannot be found" in Explorer. Most of the time all I need to do is high light the page URL and hit the Enter Key to recover. But that is not an option when trying to "Post Message".
