I want to take this time and say to ALL - Thank You!!!
As I have stated in my other post, come Nov 1st we are taking off for an exciting adventure in boondocking.
Thanks to the advise and all the postings on RV.net I believe we are set:
*We have changed out our lightings to LED lights.
*We put on a solar panel that works great for our needs.
*We invested in a Wave 3 catalytic heater.
*We have invested in a garmin (so we don't get lost), the topo software for BLM land & National Parks & Foresty, and the hand held gps for hiking.
*A very nice camera to take great outdoor pictures.
*We will purchase new batteries for our little home on wheels just before we head out this fall.

Have we forgotten anything or does anyone have any advise for us?

Not sure how big the tanks in your unit are, but a couple of potable water jugs (ours are cheap 7 gallon blue plastic from Wal-Mart) for extra fresh water. Also, depending on how long you may be staying, you might consider the blue "sewage" totes. We purchased two ten gallon as they are much easier to load into our PU (full they weigh 83+lbs each). They give us tank "relief", without having to worry about dumping on the ground, or leaving early

Just a couple of things you might want to consider. Have fun . . . we sure do!!

It lets you hook up to a faucet that does not have threads.

Water thief, Easy to make. 6"-8" piece of hose with threads on one end and a hose clamp on the other end. Can be slid onto the end of faucet that has no threads. You may consider having a small genset just in case.

It sounds like you've done a lot of deep thinking and planning on this and no doubt it will serve you well. As Markie Mark pointed out, this is a great start and you'll find a number of things to change and improve as you do it. We boondock extensively in both cold and warm climates, Alaska to Florida, and are still learning. The LED's will serve you well. After we did it, I thought our electrical panel was broken because we used so little power. Some things to consider. When the temps are cool we use Coleman Lanterns for internal light as the heat they produce cuts down on using the rig heater. Also, close rig internal doors to isolate the area you are occupying to save the heat that bodies generate. Finally, consider simple outside window awnings to keep sun out when dealing with higher temps. Use your vents and fans to control internal humidity. Moisture on the windows will be your indicator.

Good luck with your new endeavor.

A solar panel might not be enough for cloudy days or shade. Do you have a generator, as well?
