I guess we're the exception, our cat does not travel well, so she doesn't travel. Spends the winter at our Daughter's place with her pets. Even that trip results in using a garden hose on the crate and deodorizer in the car, not fun.

Many cats don't travel well, but that is because they weren't introduced to it correctly (most only have gone to the vet, which is stressful) or at an early age. Which is why traveling with a kitten is actually a good thing. The kitten won't know enough to object, and will end up by being much more comfortable with travel as an adult than would otherwise be the case.

Our female cat's paws sweat when on the road. Both complain for a bit, then one hides under the bed and the female rides on my wife's lap or hides under a pillow. The female was a discarded cat found in a farm barn --- best barn find I ever saw.
