the speaker issue IF it really is a major issue, HAS NOTHING to do with the hotspot question
Options, always have options, and the journey goes much smoother

so i should not inform him of a major flaw of the phone, considering he is wanting to buy it for the mobile hot spot feature?

Not sure if "major flaw" is close to accurate. There might be an issue, but I don't really think it is a major issue/ BTW, mine is just fine!

Thanks for the responses. Looked at over 30 sites after searching for Palm Pre problems. Lots of stuff, but not any one thing in great quantity. The speakers were mentioned only on one site and was explained as a software problem. Something to do with removing the earphone plug and not switching back to the speakers. Sounds like it was resolved rather quickly. I do not use a cel phone much at all, but because my TREO 650 (see, I told you) is coming apart I need to do something. I also need and would use the hotspot function a lot. This phone incorporated hotspot with "no extra fee" seems like a good deal and I will probably buy it. Thanks again for the inputs. Jim
