I am in a campground and this afternoon a couple pulled in beside me with a new Landmark trailer he has the Lippert auto on it and it really looked slick to me he said he just loves it. It has four legs on it plus his has stablizers on the back which go down auto after the trailer is level.

I'm glad I'm not quite there yet that I would spend over 2500.00 on a leveling system. Not when I can still take the time to do it myself. Really, were camping, what's wrong with doing some things our selfs? If i get to the point that I want to drive up and push a couple of buttons, I might as well not left home. I'm in for the total experience. What next? Campfires by the TV screensaver? But, what ever floats your boat. Happy Camping

I would venture to guess that most of us here, who have decided to spend the money on these systems (we have the 6-point Level-Up), are fulltiming...not camping! If not, they are spending lots more time in their units than the average weekend camper, and/or getting ready to go fulltime. We're not leaving home, we're there, and any convenience you can add when living this lifestyle, makes it that much more enjoyable...not one bit sorry we installed it!
In fact, just yesterday added another new "convenience"...love my brand new electric awning...one button puts it in or out...ain't technology grand???

I called the Big Foot location in Florida and asked for the price to have it installed on my fifth wheel. They quoted me $4,200. Called their other location up North and they quoted me the same price. If I bought a new trailer the option cost $2,700. Go figure.

One thing to remember is that all the leveling systems are hydraulic operated. If you are retro-fitting to an existing trailer and have electric front landing gear jacks, they will have to be changed out to hydraulic ones. This will increase the price.
I have seen the retro-fit price for the Lippert Level-Up system on this forum reported to be approximately $3200. I paid $1400 for it as an option on my new Cedar Creek.

So I'm guessing that you cook in an old coffee can over a campfire, sleep in a tent, and dig a hole in the woods to do your business. After all, you're "camping" for the "total experience."

DKean wrote: I have the level up by Lippert. It has six jacks and I preffer the manual leveling over the auto part. I think I only used the auto once. I can lift all four wheels off the ground. You can get it on the new Cedar Creek's and Mobile Suites. I don't think the Big Foot is recommended if the frame is 10" or less (thats not from Big Foot). If it's a 10" frame the six jacks on the Level Up would be better. I'm not knocking Big Foot. I was going to get the Big Foot until my research reviled that on my 10" frame six jacks would be better. There are people with the Big Foot on the 10" frame's but I decided to era on the side of caution. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
My '05 HitchHiker ll/LS has the Bigfoot system installed on an 8" Lippert frame. Trailer hasn't snapped in half yet.......... The previous owner had it installed by Quadra (Bigfoot manufacturer). Only downside was the loss of space in the LP compartment that necessitated removal of one 30lb. tank (I carry a spare). Love the convenience and not having to carry a lumberyard to level the trailer. The "full auto" Bigfoot can be operated "manually" by following the procedure to set the initial level for the system to remember.
