Hi all,
I want to get a Wingman for my Sensar but in the retracted position, I don't think I have enough room between the Sensar and my AC.
However, if the whole head of the Sensar was on the other side of the two legs that rise up, I'd have plenty of room. This would entail taking the plastic housing parts off and flipping them over.
Can this be done?

I tried this. Took the batwing all apart trying to flip it. The pivot joint is not semetrical and grinding out enough of it to allow reinstallation in the opposite direction will not leave enough to be structually sound. the batwing is now standing in my garage and we replaced it with a new antenna that uses the same lift mechanism and works all HD channel range.

Eric Probably the JACK Antenna. It supposedly fits on the batwing mast. I wouldn't just swap the batwing out because I think it's an overall better antenna, but you have a reason.

OP: Can you just shorten the tubes a bit to miss the AC? Some folks have done this successfully.

I just finished mounting a Sensar IV in the opposite direction . It took about two hours but now that I know how to do it, it would take less time. I have some pictures but not sure how to post. Contact me if you would like to see my job. crt-innovations@sbcglobal.net

Not a bad idea. I'd have to take about a foot off, but I can't see it making any difference.

I shortened mine about 8 inches. I just removed the head, put some heavy cardboard under the mast in the down position, cut the same length off of both tubes, drilled 2 new attachment holes at the top of the tubes and drilled a new hole where the coax exits the tube near the top. Hardest part was finding a drill bit exactly the right size for the coax hole so the protective bushing would fit.
