Georgew48 wrote: I looked at the Cyclone and the Fuzion side by side when I bought my Fuzion. The things that sold me on the Fuzion was the bigger tanks, second A/C standard, two fuel tanks, 12 gallon water heater, three tv/dvd players and numerous other standard features on the Touring Edition II. Either unit will give you great features and service. Good luck with your decision.
Thank you George.

Steve76eb wrote: We are looking at these exact same models and I always preferred the Fuzion, but the Cyclone is starting to win out for us.
We have found all 3 tanks in the Fuzion to be a bit larger, but not by much.
The Fuzion has the 2nd gas tank. One for toys and one for the genny.
You get the extra chair in the Fuzion so another place to sit vs just the dinette/couch.
The converter in the Fuzion is 100 amps vs 80.
You get (3) 30lb lpg tanks vs the 2 in the Cyclone, but in my last trailer I could go 3 weeks of camping and still not burn through 2 tanks, so while having the third tank seems great I don't believe its a necessity for us.
Thats about where the pluses end for us in the Fuzion. As far as the Cyclone.
Since we mostly are at RV resorts, the very slightly smaller tank capacity doesn't even come into play for us. As far as the separate fuel tanks go, that's just one more place to monitor, and run out of fuel in my mind. More propane capacity is cool, but 3 tanks? Why? Not smart enough to fill the empty before you can run out a second?
Some things I noted:
- Fuzion has electric front jacks. Cyclones are hydraulic.
- Fuzion's insulation? I know my Heartland is overall sealed up better then my previous unit (Keystone) was.
- The Fuzion I saw had a basement that wasn't nearly as nice or finished.
- Fuzion has a two pc shower, Cyclones is a one pc.
- No rear spoiler on the Fuzion.
- Tail lights are just regular trailer / RV style. Cycone has the LED's strip lights.
- Cyclone now has slam latches on the exterior doors. Fuzion has the older style 751s.
- Perhaps a preference with some, but Cyclone has mirrored windows, Fuzion has tradional dark tint.
- Cyclone has E-Z Flex Suspension. This is not even an option on the Fuzion.
- Does the Fuzion have exterior speakers and garage speakers?
There's a reason the Cyclone is ~$10k more. It's better IMO. Heartland is a great company to deal with. Support is outstanding also. That in itself was worth something to me. I had a bad experience with Keystone on our last unit. I really felt slighted from them.
There's another link here with a Fuzion problem. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. I hope he makes out better then I did with them.
Good luck!!

GPSHEMI, I'm not sure where you got your info on the Fuzion from but it's wrong.
Fuzion has the highest rated R value in the industry for TH's.
My Fuzion came with the Trail-Air suspension.
Fuzion has speakers in the garage and outside all controlled by remote control.
My basement is completely finished with lights all over.
My Fuzion came with second A/C installed in garage.
Fuzion has lower bed in garage that converts into a picnic table.
Fuzion has two industral fans in the garage.
Fuzion has extension chord on a retractable spool in the garage.
Fuzion comes with three TV/DVD's, one in bedroom, one in garage, and large on in living area. One in bedroom or garage can be moved to outside bracket for patio viewing.
Fuzion has electric ramp door (not sure about the Cyclone)
Fuzion has Sony X-teme sound system with sub woofer and amp.
Fuzion has LP quick disconnect for bbq grill.
Fuzion has 12 gallon gas/electric water heater (not sure about cyclone)
Fuzion has 100 amp converter.
The dealer where I bought mine from was selling Bboth Cyclone and Fuzion. They were basically the same price for like models. I could have bought the Cyclone for about 1,000 less than my Fuzion with less equipment on the Cyclone.
Like I said before, they are both great units and one can't go wrong with either unit.

Georgew48 is correct. The Fusion Touring Edition II is leaps and bounds about the cyclone(in regards to standard options and cool crap), but they have been discontinued or sold out for now. Standard Fusion to standard Cyclone is a close battle. The new HD Cyclone is pretty fancy too!

Hey j2davis,
Very cool blog you guys have put together and like the journey
Are pics 48-51 (give or take) taken in Torrey, UT with the red rock in the background or where are those taken?
Both these rigs are great. I'd check out the Heartland owners forum as well. There are a few people that have made some nice mods to their garages in the 3010 in adding dressers and what not...
We opted for the 3010 just for the fit and finish of the HL, less racey interior, all in one bath, their customer service (which has really held up), and the forum is really great. Rv.net is awesome, but it's nice having a place to go to (especially the toy hauler crowd) that is specific to your rig...
Best of luck, hopefully someday we'll cross paths and hit a mtn bike trail together

We're enjoying our Fuzion 322 TE. Floorplan works perfect for us. Outside of what's been said, the 3rd propane tank is handy as that's the one I pull out for the grill and lantern.

I'll toss my 2 cents in. We were torn between the Cyclone & the Fusion. Had looked at both numerous times (RV shows, dealers lots, etc). We finally settled on the Cyclone and love it. The floor plan worked for us (ares is a bit bigger than what you are looking at), the Dealer was just incredible, so far (knock on wood) it has been a fantastic unit. A couple of minor glitches, but they were rectified without question or problem. Our camping buddy got the 383. Needless to say, he's a little less happy with his.
I'll echo the same comments as everyone else, both units are great, both have minor flaws and things to get used to. It all comes down to what works for you and if both are at the same dealer, then you can't go wrong..... Good Luck!

Steve, we have really enjoyed our '09 Cyclone 3912, lots of room for lots of folks! Heartland also has the RW line with some really great floor plans and 14' box but you don't get the gel coat exterior, go to their website and check it out!
