gitane59,
The Kountry Star is a top notch outfit, and certainly worth the upgrades. Looking forward to the pictures of the new counter top. Jack

Should I bother to show the after pictures???? Or will my unnecessary decadence be met with disgust again.

I would love to see the finished product. I'm in the same boat as far as making my rig last as long as possible and look as good as it can.
Way too may side bath layouts that wife and I hate in the new models as well as the high cost to get less quality than we already own.

Apology Accepted. Were Cool

I saw it completed tonight. It looks awesome with the under-mounted SS sink. I went with the SS sink for cost and weight reason's.

I was forced to buy a new set of tap's as the 3-holer I put in 2 years ago can not be converted to a single hole tap set and we only wanted one hole in the counter.

The shop did not want me towing it home tonight as the adhesives and silicone caulking is the GE 50yr product that takes 24hours to cure.

My DW wasn't really gungho about replacing it until she saw it completed and now she loves it with the undermounted dual full size 8 inch deep sinks. She's now looking at the S&B sink and wishing it was 8 inch deep bowls.

The fabricator really was a craftsman as he built a skirt around all four sides of the flip up counter extension with the corian to hide all the mounts and linkages underneath the extension.

You would never know the countertop was not the original except the edge contour is a contemporary looking bevelled edge.

The original counter was 1/4 inch material doubled up in a some areas to increase strength. I chose to go with 1/2 inch material completely so I will suffer a small weight penalty of an estimated 50-60 lbs.

We very carefully cut around the old corian backsplash and the fabricator made the new backsplash about a 3/8 inch higher to hide a couple of marks in the wallboard made when the old backsplash came off.

I will have to relocate the S-trap drain for the new deeper sinks when I bring it home tomorrow.

I will post pic's tomorrow evening once I get it home.

The shop is anxious for me to get the tap's in and pictures taken since they want pictures for their project gallery.
