2010 F350. So far love it no problems at all. It may not be great on fuel but that does not bother me!

Ford 6.4L (3.73 axle) -- 274hp/539tq (avg test mpg - 11.0 mpg)
Dodge 6.7L (4.10 axle) -- 321hp/582tq (avg test mpg - 14.4 mpg)
GM 6.6L (3.73 axle) -- 327hp/583tq (avg test mpg - 14.6 mpg)
Also, the Ford was slowest loaded and unloaded in the test, backing up the dyno figures. Obviously you disagree, and that's ok. I believe we've done this before anyway...
I don't know how H&S got those results. 648 rwtq out an engine rated for 650 at the crank? Seems a bit odd.
I don’t believe any of those dyno tests. I read those mags cover to cover and the readings are different in every one. The Ford is slower because it is heavier which in my opinion makes it more stable and capable.
I have been very partial to Chevy and Dodge but took a chance on the Ford. I did a lot of research and it has higher payload and towing capability then the competition. I drove my friends brand new F-350 and towed with it, I was very impressed. I also looked at the 2011 and was very tempted. 3 draw backs for me were. 1. New Engine 2. Price (limited rebates) 3. 2010 is better looking IMO. I probably could have lived with 1 and the 2011 is growing on me but I got $13K of sticker and a great price on my trade in. the 2011 may get better mpgs but I can buy a lot of diesel with $13K ( I am getting 14mpg mixed city/highway) I don’t have very many miles on my truck so I mpgs may go up but the wife loves it and it’s hard to get her out of it. Anyway that’s why I chose the 2010

I have an '09 6.4L. It's a great pulling engine. It's all stock (including the dreaded DPF) but still pulls our TT strong. For long trips, it's great since it seems to be happiest at interstate speeds. Running 70-75 mph with the TT is extremely smooth.
If you opt for the 6.7L, I posted in another thread about Ford's plan to turn it up a little in a few months. They're wanting to be stronger than GM and have decided to go ahead and up its numbers to beat the Duramax. Presumably 400 hp and 800 lb./ft. of torque in the later 2011 models.

08 f350 with the 6.4, currently 45k trouble free miles!
oh yeah it maybe the slowest out there, but i doubt the others are rockets! If i do get the itch to go fast i can do 0-80 in 3 seconds on something that is silly fast.

I was a Ford Man myself but after spending 40,000 plus for a new 2006 with the 6.0 and problem after problem with the engine. With 54000 mls on it and warrenty about to run out and still having problems. Ford telling me... oh well....buy and extended warrenty. I think I'd have to look elsewhere...Seems Fords commentment to quility and satisfied owners is just a bunch of B.S.
Now thats just my opinion....

'09 F350 6.4, stock, nearing 27,000 mi with no engine issues. Only issue to date was an A/C refrigerant leak near the accumulator which was a quick warranty fix. Oil analysis consistently showing <0.5% fuel dilution.
On the Ford side, the 6.4 has several years of track record, while the 6.7 has several months of track record. Never buy version 1.0 of anything.
Certainly you should also look at and test drive the other brands for comparison. Non of these trucks are cheap and all are pretty good, so you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't investigate all the options.

Man, you know how to start a pissin' contest!!
Of course, whatever the guy your talking to has, is the best truck!!
I have always been a Ford man, even through the bad years with International/Navistar building the crappy 6.0.
My 6.4 was a great motor, but the fuel mileage was horible as everyone has stated. If you don't mind gambling, doing a DPF delete and tune will get you a strong puller and better mileage.
I feel very confident that Ford did their homework before releasing their in-house-built 6.7, so I bought one. They have too much riding on the success of the 6.7 to have another mess like the 6.0
Man, what a mule!! It will pull circles around my old 6.4!! The power is great, but the new transmission is the star of the show!! It is SO locked in!! And it has a "manual" feature that gives you complete control of the shifting. Kinda like a manual tranny without a clutch!! Too cool and really nice for towing.
Also, the new factory 5th wheel/gooseneck prep is very nice!!
I put nearly 800 miles on it before I hooked up the 5er, and was getting right at 16 with mixed driving during that first 800. I only towed about 200 miles, but got right at 12 for that trip. I now have about 1300 miles on it and average 16 empty. I'm sure I could get 18 or 19 on a long hwy trip empty.
I love my new truck and plan to keep it for a long time!!

I have an 08 450 with the 488 rear end and I'm now a full timmer. The last two days I have had a high of 10 mpg to a low of 7.2 mpg pulling 13,500 lbs. I'm not driving hard, nothing over 65mph.
I haven't had any problems with my truck and I really love it, but what bothers me is if I have a problem that requires a cab pull after my warranty expires it will be expensive. Get the 2011 even if you have to pay more.
