So, we took the new trailer out this weekend...

Went to a local campground only 15 miles away. It's an older place recently converted to a KOA. Online review didn't like it because it 'wasn't the same' any more.

We had such an experience I don't know where to begin this post:

-We didn't crash or blow a tire on the way to the campground!

-Absolutely nothing was broken in the new trailer!

-The park was clean, quiet, efficient, and fun!

-Our neighbors didn't have one single fight, not one kid cut through our camp, nobody set anything on fire, and we even met the nicest people camping next to us!

In short, it was an absolutely wonderful weekend camping. I'm truly sorry I don't have something terrible to whine to the internet about, except maybe for the campground peacocks that serenaded us at 0800 each morning.

I know what you mean about the Peacocks, roosters, and hens that want to hang around my RV at 6 in the morning, and warn me that the sun is just about to come up, or in the winter that a light has turned on, and I should be warned about it.

They can get noisy.

Glad to hear the spare tire will still be available for the next trip out.

Good Luck,

Fred.

As we're in southern Ca, can you identify the campground. When we come to Ventura, we have stayed at Ventura Beach RV.

The picture looks like the campground up by Steckel Park off the 150.

It is the old Far West Resort off the 150 by Steckel Park. I found an article on it HERE.

What you described is what happens at most of our trips. It is just that a lot of folks like to focus on the bad. Even when the bad happens, it should not ruin a trip.

Glad things went well for you.

Oh, no fair! I was waiting for some sort of electrical story - like your appliances all burned up!

Boring...

Just kidding - glad you had a great time!
