Last night our cat escaped when my husband took our dog out. We didn't even know she was gone until morning. We are in a campground in West Yellowstone but only for 2 nights. We reported her missing to the office and posted a flyer and talked to everyone we saw. She wears a collar with her name and our phone number. By 8pm we were pretty sure she was long gone and we'd never see her again. Then our neighbor told us that his dog had been barking at the rear wheels of the rig all day. Well, sure enough Maggie was under their coach. It took a little coaxing but she finally came out none the worse for her wear. We're so glad to have her back and so thankful for the dog next door alerting his owner to an intruder. Now, if we can just keep her in our rig! This isn't her first escape but it was almost her last.

nice to read it ended well. we put a harness on our cats when we travel and it has a name tag with our cell phone number on it. they wear the harness all day until we are done coming in and out for the night and then we take it off. we also put a lead on them and attach it to something if we are going to be in and out a lot. they sure can be quick to run out even when you are watching.

Well, glad to hear of the happy ending, but did you get that dog a treat???? Maybe a slab of Filet Mignon….or Rib Eye????

I am glad that Maggie was found. Maybe CJ5jeeper's idea that the dog barking will keep her from wanting to go out.
