anyone attempt to use a boat bilge blower for fridge coil cooling. There are so many different choices to fit your app. Just wondering of the noise level?

Guess any fan is better than no fan, BUT they draw way too many amps. Look at the size of the wire used and you will see why a computer fan is a better choice.
I added this $10 fan from Radio Shack. Look at the size of the two wires.
This post is my opinion (free advice). It is not intended to influence anyone's judgment nor do I advocate anyone do what I propose.

I agree. A bilge blower is WAY WAY overkill for this job. All you want to do is create a draft.
I installed these on the top of the cavity to draw air out and augment the 2 already on the fridge. Total draw is less than 250ma.

A 3" or 4". 12 VDC muffin fan from Radio Shack will work well. I prefer to mount them in the top of the vent rather than the bottom.

Wow! Have you HEARD a bilge blower? Mine makes more noise than both engines combined!
I installed a 12v muffin fan in my RV to assist in fridge cooling.

I use a computer muffin fan wire directly to a small solar panel.

Computer cooling fan - Look around make sure you're getting a brushless motor. Some of the cheaper ones aren't - and wont last.

Wow! I'm just using a small panel from a inexpensive solar powered motion sensor light and it powers up the fan even in less than full sun. This has been a stand alone installation since the spring of 2009.
