Just click on the "question mark" and look for a link that says "to disable the advertising, click here". It will remove all of these links for a period of time but you'll need to do it again sometime later on. When the links are not disabled it makes the forum very difficult to even use because the adds are constantly blocking what you're trying to read. I HOPE they're making a bundle from them because I'm SURE membership (or at least usership) has dropped because of them.

Yes, that's exactly what I do.

But they are back the next day or so. Used to last a month.

Seems to be part of the new electronics game and to heck with what the customer wants - we'll just cram it down their throat.

Wish I could find a way to blame it on those dimwits currently in Washington.

Wow! Just went to Extensions in Chrome, then clicked on Get Extensions and installed ADthwart, which is Adblock for Chrome. Refreshed this forum and all the underlines and ads were gone.

ADBlock Plus(ABP) is currently my favorite for blocking text link ads. You can also use it to block Forum/Blog popups by adding custom filters here. You'll need to install the ABP extension or its' variations on each browser. That's one advantage that modifying a Host file has for sending third party ads to a "black hole." It will work with any browser, but since its' domain based, it can't be used to block the Forum's popups as you would also be blocking access to the Forums itself. At least, I haven't found a method using Host files to block these specific popups.

What adds? I have never seen any adds. I use google chrome and have never updated anything. I'm not even sure what you are talking about.

Ignore them ... kind of like all the other advertisements you see a day. Probably a thousand or more. IGNORE THEM! :-)
