Recently we went from a 24.5' 5er to a 39', 12000lb 5er. We also upgraded the truck from a 1/2 ton gas Silverado to a 1 ton, DRW, diesel Ford. Towing with new combination is much easier than it was with the old truck/trailer. Hills don't slow us down. It's true that the new rig won't fit into some CGs. but that's the only downside I've found to the much longer trailer. We just finished a 6500 km trip (our first with the new rig) and did have to get in and out of a couple of tight places. Don't believe CG operators when they say that you will have no problem getting in and out of sites. Park and go and look for yourself.
