I also did DW's car with buffing wheel and toothpaste. They were really bad but came out like new. Al C

We used the kit (purchased at Wally World) $19.99. Worked wonders.

And with the UV coating gone, just how many months are they going to stay clear. Have heard of people putting 3M plastic film on them, but that has its problems too.

After my father (Teacher's Pet) replaced the headlight assembly in my 97 Crown Vic, he instructed me to wax them regularly. Apparently, that *is* the secret to preventing the fogging in the first place.

Mine were so yellowed that I had been complaining to my eye doctor about failing night vision. A few weeks later, I was informed that the headlights wouldn't pass the state inspection that year. Dad charged a lot less than the garage, that's for sure!

Well clearly (pun intended) it's already gone or the plastic wouldn't be in the shape it's in.

I had the oil changed at Walmart the other day and for $20.00 extra, they made my headlight covers look like brand new, and I did not have to do any of the labor. Works for me.

FWIW... a couple of swipes from a $2.50 can of Turtle's "polishing compound" will do the trick almost instantly. Finish with a coat of wax.

I use toothpaste also. Cheaper than just about anything else out there.

I donno, have you priced a tube of toothpaste lately? But at least your headlights won't have any cavities and will smell nice.

I used the 3M kit. Mine were hazy and pitted. Nice and clear now. $16 on sale.
