My 79 dodge motorhome it has the 440 motor in it just got it very good shape for its age so it was running rough so i did new plugs and wires cap it has electronic ignition so now it pops & misses on exceleration dont have the firing order pictorial to know if #1 is correct wondering is there a different type of cap or which cylinder on the block is #1

Firing order: 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2
Looking at distributor from front of engine compartment no 1 will be at approx 8 o-clock position

Looking at the distributor from the front, #1 will be at approx 8 o'clock. Distributor goes counter-clockwise, and #1 cylinder is front driver side, then 3, 5, 7. Passenger side front is #2, then 4, 6, 8.
