You will probably not get an honest answer to your question.

The reason is nobody likes to admit that they have been taken to the cleaners. Also, most people don't have lots of experience with different brands.

So most people will tell you they love whatever it is they own.

Wow. "won't get an honest answer", from what I've seen that's ALL the OP has gotten with everyone saying pretty much the same thing WITHOUT the slightest hint of brand loyalty or denigrating the other brands.

I did not see one single response that answered the poster's question, "RV Mfgs. to Avoid?"

Actually he had several answers. The answer is there are none to avoid, per se.

I too am considering moving from a camper to a C class and would be very interested in answers to the OP's question, perhaps rephrased as "What are the best makes?"

Which doesn't answer the poster's question, which was my point - he's not likely to get any direct answers to his question because either their too proud to admit they got burned or they don't have sufficient experience with different brands to be able to comment.

If I listed the brand I own, the post would likely be deleted.

I have a list as long as my arm of the endless items that have gone wrong with my coach. Many of them extremely costly and approaching the $5,000.00 range to repair. What's worse is many of these failures are now failing for the second and third time. That is when you realize that the coach was built shabbily in the first place.

The OP is just going to have to use trial and error when buying any particular brand, since there are no stock answers to his question.

And as an FYI - I own one of "the best/costliest makes..."

I think that the OP was simply asking for names of "bad" RV manufacturers. There aren't any notoriously bad RV manufacturers, a few have better quality control and corrective action systems and use better fastening and finishing techniques and materials. The dealer's reputation for prompt and professional fixing of poor installations and defective appliances and devices is to me of primary importance. Get references and talk to recent customers about their experience with the dealer, try to be sure they are real customers. There is one major Southern Ca dealer I would never buy from again. BTW, Extended mechanical warranties are full of loopholes and exclusions. If you intend to benefit from them, get a copy of the detailed contract before you buy the warrantee and read it carefully. You will need to comply with all the provisions about having everything inspected and serviced on schedule and be able to furnish copies of all service records to successfully make a claim, then hope that the warranty company honors the claim and recompenses you. Most would advise you to put the money in a pearl harbor savings plan the draws interest instead of buy a warranty package.
