Last summer, we bought and installed the Eliminator Strut Stabilizer System, a set of 6 stabilizer bars reinforcing the corner jacks to the frame. My son and I installed them at home, in less than 2 hours. We've been more than satisfied with the positive results, can't detect any wiggle when moving about inside.

Bought ours at CW. Here's the copy-n-paste link:

Compared to our motorhome, the new trailer doesn't seem to move near as much, even with just one x-chock. I did suggest to my wife that if she lost a few pounds, the trailer wouldn't rock as much. That suggestion didn't go over well...

Thanks everyone for the comments. We have since moved outside the trailer and now no rocking! Seems when no one is in it....it doesn't rock. Just kiddin'. I made some of the DIY wheel chocks that stabilize both wheels and they fit perfect. I'll let everyone know how they work. Thanks again guys.

There are many threads on this forum discussing this issue.

I use my homemade between-the-wheel chocks - they help a great deal. I also use blocks under the stabilizer jacks. The more blocks you use the less motion you will have.

Without a second thought, I went and bought the SteadyFast system (www.steadyfast.com) and put it on... it's awesome!

So are the prices! For the $300 to $400 bucks they charge for the things they ought to take out more than 100% of the movement.

HappyTrails2U2...It is not possible to take out more than 100% of the movement of any travel trailer. I got my Steady Fast system for $299, which included shipping, and I feel that it was a very good deal. Obviously you have not seen this system "up close & personal" so you have no idea just how heavy gauge all the parts are. And you are not just paying for the parts but also for the knowledge that went into engineering this system. If it's so easy to do (and cheap) why don't you engineer a better system yourself and put it on the market? I'm sure the price you paid for your travel trailer is 3-4 times the cost of the materials to make it. Some people!

No need to since it has existed for decades. For $30 to $40 for 4 and possibly 6 if you have a rear living high use area in the very rear of the trailer other than for adult sleeping, the old style screw jack stands properly placed will work just as good if not better than trying to fix the ill designed and placed OEM stabilzer jacks on almost all trailers. The key is proper placement for you particular trailer and proper tensioning. Going back to the basics ended up in my removing the useless stabilizer jacks that are destined for the dump and saved me almost 50 to 60 or so lbs in the process.

I know you won't believe me, but both Happy and several others like me have actually done this with outstanding results.

That's why they should be giving you a rebate 'cause those things don't take our but 90% of the movement if that much.

I don't need to design a system when 4 little jack stands for $35 bucks will do as good a job or better.

You know what they say about "some people"? Those "people" and their money are soon parted!
