yea I think my 06 d max registration was like 700.00, here is how to reduce it, mine is in my company name so I will sell it to my self for 3 grand, I will have to pay tax on 3k but the registration is based on what you payed for it. Ca.

Bad info!

Come back and tell us if it works! (Very old "plan", LOL!)

The DMV has a range of values (Blue Book) for any/all vehicles.

An obvious "deal" (too good to be true) will revert to the value of the vehicle, *NOT* what you paid for it.

But - good luck anyway!

In CA they use the blue book value of your vehicle for registration tax unless you can show otherwise. The days of the 5000.00 purchase for a 1 year old vehicle / truck are long gone.

Hmmm. My daughter starts at UWYO in a couple weeks. Maybe it's time to register mine to the dorms.

Good to know UW is getting another out of state student.

You could buy her a town house or condo, she could avoid the dorm food and you can register everything to the Wyoming house. Wouldn't be the first time.

I'm a graduate student at UWYO now in Neuroscience. It's a nice little town and the dorms aren't that bad. There is a fair chance I'll be one of the TAs for Bio 1000, so tell her you have a spy in freshman level courses in case she doesn't come to Friday lecture... GO POKES!

GO POKES indeed. I'm still dazzled by your hospitality at the freshman orientation. We sure got a lot of strange looks from folks who'd never meet a Californian before.

Good luck to your daughter! Are you going to bring her out? If you have some extra time during the trip I can tell you some good spots to ride and camp up in the Snowys.

I'm glad you were treated to some Wyoming hospitality! Quick word of advice, come earlier in the move in process, its a zoo over on Grand and Invinson when the dorms open. Also, you probably know Laramie doesn't have much in the way of shopping, so plan accordingly!

I am going to go look at a 2006 Chevy 3500 tomorrow. I called last Saturday and the guy said it was pending sale as the new owner was at the bank getting a check. He got a hold of me on Monday and said it was still for sale as he was not aware of the new smog requirement so he couldn't sell it and the other guy didn't leave a deposit. He has the Edge EVO on it along with Edge exhaust. After a couple years he got tired of lugging around the old cat so he just threw it away. Now he is into over $700 plus the install of a new cat to get this truck sold.

Great!!!!
Shortly after getting my truck, I bought a 4 inch "turbo back" exhaust system and of course I had to get the one without the CAT.
Who would of guessed that four years later, I would be having to smog my diesel truck...........Man I HATE this state!!!!!!!!!
