Found a lady on Craigslist who lives nearby and only charges us $50/month.
Know people living in San Diego and they pay about $1500/year for storage. Gets a little cheaper the farther out of town you get.

We're paying $35 a month for storage in a fenced in locked lot. Gravel lot with no other facilities. Inside storage here would have been more than the payment on the TT!

We currently pay $50/month to park in a fenced private farm. We used to pay $150/month closer in the city.

Thanks for your replies everyone!
The neighbor a couple of blocks away said he would charge $60/month, for a spot on an empty dirt/gravel lot, fenced in... so I guess that's not bad. However, he said right now he is full... but I think he as enough space to do some re-arranging and can maybe accommodate us. He just wants to ensure people have enough room to get in and out comfortably... I like the idea of having it at least close by, if not at home. There are other large lot owners around here we're thinking about asking.
During our inquiries, we've seen some RV storage places charge up to $380/month! That would be more than our 5th wheel payment... I wish I still lived in Colorado... I would've had no problem parking it on my 3 acre lot... Hope to move back there again in a few years, but for now, I'll try to stick to around $50-60/month around in the area we're at.
I'm still hoping to be able to park it at home, but the narrow street and very steep hill to back up don't leave much room for turning tight into the driveway
Are 5th wheel covers worth their $400-$500 price tag? I don't see many RV's covered up when parked - is it a real pain to take off and put on?
Thanks again!

What part of Ca are you in? In So Cal it's about $200 aand also depends on how far from your house you're willing to go. When I had to store the biggest problem was finding a place that had openings.

So Cal near Los Angeles and we pay $208 per month at US Storage facility.
Campgrounds run from $1200 to $1600 per month in about a 200 mile radius.
Best option would be to practice backing up the hill. Our 5th wheel manufacturer used a forklift to move the 5th wheels around their lot. I see forklifts for sale on craigslist for less than $5000. Don't know if they would have the power to back your 5th wheel up the hill.
The old El Toro base in Irvine has RV storage for about $100 per month if you're close to it.

I'm in So California, in the San Fernando valley.
Other people who have to backup steep hills have said the Duramax will be fine backing up the 300' or so up the steep hill, in 4x4 low if needed (5th wheel = 11915 gvwr).
I've backed smaller/lighter utility trailers up here with no issue, but backing up that big a trailer for that long in a narrow street will certainly not be easy.
The main problem is our narrow (two car width total) street which doesn't leave much room for turning/maneuvering into the driveway and the side of the house.

Sounds like my kind of guy. Someone who is thinking about his customers, not just his bottom line. Perhaps you can get on a waiting list?
