Have daughter visiting us in Mission right now, would like to show her some of the wild parrots, does anyone know where to look for them this time of year? Or are they a winter thing? Will be trying the birding park on Bentsen Palm DR.

Try calling the Llano Grande office in Mercedes. In May they were still roosting in the oak trees,,and likely based on the "racket" they make, the office should know if they are still hanging around the park. They come to the park to eat acorns they find in the large oak trees.
They are called red crowned parrots.

There are a few hanging around Llano Grande RV Park in the east end. Usually see them in the late evening or early morning.
