I check to see if wires are hooked up and not broken which they are not. How do I find out or check to see if the sending units are working inside the tank? You may have a soap scum build up on the sensors. Many people suggest Calgon water softner powder. Put some in the tank and add water and drive around I guess. I use Robiec Septic Tank treatment. Put a couple tablespoons in and fill the tank and let it work. You'd be surprized what comes out of the tank.
