Yep!
ps: Dang, Skip, I seem to be agreeing with you an awful lot lately ... maybe it's the name
Well I agree with the both of you, it might be cause my brother is named "Skip". (wife is Margie).

Port Aransas, Tex - I.B. McGee Beach Park (Nueces County Parks) is a excellent place to stay, And a lot cheaper! Just over the dunes from the Gulf!! Or if you want to boondock, you can do it on the beach!

I know a guy who had a '74 Revcon and told the park it was 2001. They never knew the difference. That is what they got for not letting him know ahead of time.

Yep...we've actually camped there with our 'old' 20 year old Airstream. Never heard a peep and have to give 3 tours for interested parties.
I guess they don't want grandma strapped on the roof of the family truckster!

kmb1966 wrote: Called Gulf RV campground to get a spot in Port Aransas, Texas. Our rig is not 10 years old yet, but will be next summer. I keep ours inside and waxed and it looks nice and all. The park has a rule that appears to be non-negotiable. If the RV is 10 years or older, they will not let you in. I'm thinking, perhaps if I go and they see my unit, they will reconsider. But I don't think so. They were very specific. So, I got to thinking, if I go there and really like it, I can't go next summer because my unit is too old. I said, "noYe thank you!" It's their park and they can do whatever they want. It's my unit and I'd rather go somewhere else. I wish others would follow. Who wants to buy a $150,000+ rig every 10 years? Not me.
We stayed there for 3 nights last winter. The resort is an owner owned lot type resort, where the lots range from $30K to $96K. Management rents them out when the owner is not using them. Why anyone would want to spend that kind of money for something like that is beyond me, but it is definately an upscale resort. Initially, we were going to stay a week and they wanted a credit card with a $100 non-refundable deposit, so we agreed. Bad weather prevented us from arriving when we first thought, and we got there several days later. They would not extend the weeks' reservation, so at $40/night, we paid another $20 and only stayed 3 nights. Yes, the manager asked how old our unit was, and as a matter of principle, I lied by a couple of years, and it appeared that she didn't have a clue anyway. She was just going through the motions.

Time to stop thinking and start doing. Expect respect and you will get.

Last year 3 rv parks (2 in ca. and 1 in az.) asked me for mine, and told me they would on the phone when I made reservations. When winter rolls around sites are at a premium with all the snow birds down here.
By the way one of the ca. parks was a county park.
As someone already mentioned here, the CG owners dont have any legal right to look at my personal papers. If they wish to call a LEO...thats fine...I'll show them to HIM and then leave when he asks me to IF he asks me to.

If I won a lottery and had the $, I'd buy a wrecked (totalled) RV, less than 10 years old, just do what I have to do to get it running and rolling just to see the looks on their faces as they have to let me in, since it's under 10 years old.
Broken windows... dented body paneling with holes... I'd giggle my rear end off.
