That would be easily accomplished with this simple....remote control

Why not start the gen set in the morning before you leave and have the AC thermostat set to a comfortable temp and let the AC control itself? The need for AC during the day is seldom a surprize and no need to be turning it on and off manually. The genset should be started with NO LOAD and allowed to cool with NO LOAD before shutting down if you want it to live long.
Just see no need to do what the OP is asking.

I was told by my dealer, the generator will run for a few minutes prior to allowing current to the coach and found it's more like 20 to 30 seconds before it turns on power.

Maybe I am wrong but I feel that a five to ten minute break from driving to turn on or off the AC and take a streach is a good thing. I know that it isn't always possible to pull off at exactly the time you want to turn on or off the AC but the short time it takes to find a pull off won't over heat or freeze me. I vote for stopping and kicking the tires while the genny warms up a little and then back on the road refreshed. Then again I try not to be in a hurry cuz I'm on permanent vacation.

For those with auto gen start option, what is the sequence when your thermostat calls for cooling and the generator then starts?
It would seem that the AC status was already set as to temp desired and blower volume etc and the only thing missing was voltage from the generator.
So the thermostat tells auto gen start to start the generator, which then starts, and when voltage is present the AC blower unit comes on. Shortly thereafter, the AC compressor fires up and begins cooling.
If the above is true, how is it different from the OP's proposed procedure?

If you have the same Air Con. that my Holiday Rambler has, then there is a built in 5 min time delay from the time the AC gets power to the time it actually starts running. This will work for turning it on as this will allow the gen to come up to speed and stabilize but not for shutting it down. It is OK to turn AC off anytime but the generator should not be turned off under load (could damage the electronics in the gen and the AC) and also should be allowed to run a few minutes under no load to properly cool. My 10k Onan, working thru the EMS, starts with no load, then gradually accepts load from the A/C's, water heater, washer/dryer, etc. Indicator lights on the EMS panel for each major appliance come on one by one in about the first minute of genset operation. I've never watched the panel during an AGS start, but presumably it does the same thing.
I leave my AC's (one or more, depending on conditions) turned on as the OP asked, then flip the genny on or off as needed when driving in hot weather. When I start the genny, the EMS gradually accepts load as above, the A/C blower(s) come on, followed by compressors. No problems so far, don't see why there would be.

The next time you turn the airs on time it to see how long the delay is, it should be at least 2 or 3 minutes which means it will not be a problem doing what you want. The only problem might be unplugging from shore power before turning off the A/cs, with the thermostat left on there will be no delay.

If you had an in-line surge guard it checks the voltage for about 2 min. before letting power into the MH.
