Saw a list of new BLM rules over on Thumpertalk CA section a while back, it specifically said no dumping of gray water.

In the past I have made an evaporation pond with some sucess. I use (4) 2 X 4 laid on edge to make a frame then line it with a blue tarp. Fill it with grey water then let it evaporate. It evaporates pretty fast in the dez most of the year....winter takes longer. Do this as needed during your stay then sweep the sediment in the tarp into the trash, or in my case I just fold the tarp into itself and throw the whole thing away.
This is the best suggestion I have ever seen

Would be cheaper to use the plastic paint drop cloths in the pait section at Wally World. $1.99 is all.

Do you let that stuff enter your gray tank ? I put all that in the trash , only soap and water in my tank.
