My K-Z Coyote Lite 232BS weighs in at around 4600 (according to the literature) dry. I weighed it loaded for a weekend for four, and it scaled at under 4,800. Even it's larger slide brother, the 232SS, weighs in under 5,000, but gives more room inside because of it's larger slide.

I vote for the Heartland Edge M22 as well. I didn't need the bunk beds and I wanted something a little longer and so went with a North Trail 28RLS. The quality and factory customer service at Heartland is outstanding.

We have a Palomino Gazelle G210 and towed with a GMC Canyon crew 4wd adequately ( a little planning for long hills but it did the job). Due to an accident to the GMC(not towing related) we now have a 2005 Tundra 4WD crew 4.7L and there is a bit more power and a better weight ratio between Truck and trailer. Palomino is quite a nice camper and tows very well.

Here is our floorplan. 4400 lbs dry weight. Loaded up ready to camp it weighs around 6,000 lbs. Forest River Surveyor SV 291. There are other companies that offer the same or very similar floorplan I'm sure.

I was in the same boat you are in right now this time last year. I did some research and my wife and I had "requirements" that we wished to have on the TT that we purchased. There are many, many really nice travel trailers out there available that meet the under 5000 pound weight you are looking for. We use a 2003 Toyota Sequoia to pull the TT with 6200 lbs capacity to work with. Like you, bunk beds were on the list. We also wanted the ability to close off the master bedroom with doors instead of curtains. We ended up purchasing a Coachmen Freedom Express 290 BHS which came with electric stabilizer jacks, electric front tongue jack, and met all of the other "requirements" we came up with. It has a dry weight of 4950. I just pulled it from east Tennessee to Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, about 500 miles through mountains, without a single problem. We haven't had one problem with this unit (knock on wood), and I would highly recommend it to you. On top of everything else, we got an incredible deal on the camper. I wish you good luck in your search.
