So good to see these older TTs. We have a 2001 Gulfstream we love. We visited the dealer hoping to find a new one with a similar floor plan, but no one seems to make one. So I guess we'll stay with our tried and true "home away from home". In talking to the salesman (who seemed very honest - not like some others) he basically said as long as we maintain our trailer it should hold up. I was afraid after 12 years or so the roof would leak - but again I guess it's about maintenance. One of the things we like about our "Innsbruck" is that we don't have (or want) slide outs. The floor plan works great without a slide out and it's one less thing to break. My only real complaint is that despite my best efforts I can't get some of those gray streaks off.

for the streaks... try some "awesome" cleaner from the dollar store. Works for us!

We are running with a 1995 or so Jayco TT, no slides, no leaks. Basic maintenance will keep your rig in great shape for many years. Recoat the roof if the sealant looks dry, keep it clean, store it under cover. We hope to keep the jayco until we stop RV'ing, which, we hope, will be a LONG time.

we bought our 08 in the floorplan we wanted so that we can keep it for 20 years or so. It's the only one we're going to have with bunks! Some of our friends "upgrade" to other trailers with similar floorplans to what they already have and I just don't get it.

I have a 1985 Shasta that I bought off of craigslist last fall for $300. As you might have guessed it had a lot of problems. I have fixed most of them and my wife and I will be leaving for our first vacation in it on 7/24. We couldn't justify spending thousands of dollars on a new trailer when We only camp 1 week and maybe a couple of weekends a year. I still have less than $1000 total invested in it now and could easily recover that and more if I were to sell it.

After the problems that we had with previous pop up campers we camped in a tent the last 6 years. With the tent it didn't matter how many tarps we covered things with we always got wet.

We have been through tenting, pop-ups, travel trailers and now have a 5th wheel. Anything with wheels has been bought used. Every November/December when I winterize I go over the roof and side joints looking for caulk that needs to be dug out and replaced (after cleaning the area). I then keep it covered with a tarp. I found one leak where the radio antenna comes out, that was easy to repair. Like anything else, if maintained, they will last a long time.

Dilute Awsome first & don't let it dry before rinsing or it will leave white streaks that are even harder to remove. Working on mine now.

We recently sold our 2002 Bantam hybrid and bought a 1995 24' Prowler. It has been taken good care of and the floor plan suits us fine. I do have a few things that need to be fixed(some unforseen rotted wood). It is nothing that can't be fixed and the best part is there is no payment book with this one.
