Silicon does not do well on rubber roofs. Your dish probably comes with a gasket, if not, I would suggest using eternabond double sided tape, and then seal the edges and screwheads with dicor self leveling. A good cleaning of both the roof and antenna base with alchohol will ensure a good bond.

Thanks. I will read my owners manual and see if I have a rubber roof. I thought it was fiberglass/gelcoat, but now I'm not so sure.

I've been walking around up there. Maybe I shouldn't be doing that if it's really rubber??

I did get a gasket, BTW.

You can walk on both types of roofs without doing any harm. Either one dicor is the product to use.
It would be a great help if you would add some information about your rv in your signature or personal information. ie. year, make, model and chassis.

This is a pretty good explanation of the various caulks in a marine context.

I didn't realize polysulfides were incompatable with plastics. I think I'm going to stick with 3M4200 as my basic caulk.
