I'm going to Cherrystone on July 26th. Is there much to do in the area of the campgrounds? I mean like sight seeing. Also has anyone stayed at site 604 on Sunset Circle? Is it total sun? Any tips?

There are trees in the pull thru section but most are not very large. I doubt there is much shade on the front row but I'm not totally certain. You may get a little breeze from the bay. Not much going on outside the CG. Maybe ride thru Cape Charles or Kipptopeake State Park. Going to Stingrays Restaurant is a must. Some of the best food DW and I have ever eaten. Go further south on 13 for a few miles. It is a place called the Cape Center. It's on the left. Look for an Exxon fuel sign. It gets pretty busy after 5 PM. There is also a small pottery just down the road from Stingrays. Have Fun!!

We used to stay in Site 605.You will have a gorgeous view of the sunsets, providing it is not cloudy.
There are a few small trees but the front of you will be in full sun from about mid afternoon.
Have fun. We are not going this year for the first time in 18 years.

Don't forget to travel North on 13 to Chincoteague to see the wild ponies. Nice island for a visit, but very crowded this time of the year due to pony penning. Annual swim of the ponies in July.
