We are new to RVing and want to make a trip to Grand Haven Michigan. We don't have a tow vehicle yet. Is there a campground within walking distance to the beach and other sites? Any help would be appreciated.

Grand Haven State Park is the only campground within
walking distance. If you don't have reservations yet,
you better get started, this is a hard campground to get into.

Right on the Lake according to the info provided on the website but I've never been there.

From the State Park you can walk to all of downtown. You will get some exercise but there are some good places there.

Dutchwind has it pegged. Great park, close to all the touristy stuff. But probably close to impossible to get a site for more than one night until the kids are back in school.

You might want to look at Ludington State Park or Orchard Beach State Park in Manistee.

As previously mentioned Grand Haven State Park is a gem! Right on the huge beach and adjacent to the Grand River, Pier and Light house. Board-walk along channel or take trolley to down town with several decent restaurants and shopping. The worlds largest musical fountain plays every night. A great beach town! Go on line for reservations-sites will be available during the middle of the week - sometimes. Things open up after Labor day. Forget the first week in August - Coast Gard Festival with thousands of people in town. There 2 other campgrounds in the area. Good luck!
