There is a pitiful skinny cat limping a bit around our cg. It hurts me to my soul to see it. We have coyotes and owls in the area. I know not to feed it unless I want to be owned by it,but it pains me so to do nothing. It is a feral and doesn't trust people. Our local shelter is over-run with cats, and if I call Animal Control,I know it will be euthanized. That is probably the most humane thing to do, but I keep hoping it will disappear and I won't need to stew anymore. I'm not a wimp,but I'm also not a Divine Being. What would you do?
Please don't call me a coward,if I was I wouldn't be baring my feelings in public..

The key issue here is he is injured and 'will' be easy prey for the wildlife and/or die from his injuries.
Get on line and look for a Cat RESCUE org in your town. There's bound to be one in your area. If you say that the cat is INJURED they usually will be out there in a flash.
Also calling your humane shelter will net you leads to a cat rescue too as they usually have the phone numbers for all of them posted at the shelters. Good Luck.

Go to Petfinder and use the "Animal Shelter" tab to look up rescues in the area. There may be some sort of feral cat rescue/assistance program that can help.

If he is injured, he will certainly be a victim of stronger animals. He might also be in pain and is surely very hungry - not all cats are capable of hunting/killing mice etc., for food. I volunteer full-time at our local shelter and no one hates to see an animal put down more than I do, HOWEVER, sometimes it is the most humane thing you can do. This just could be such a case. It might not be easy for you to do, but ingnoring it and hoping it will go away is just not acceptable, IMHO.

I would help the poor thing........even if that included helping him to cross the rainbow bridge. I think you will do the right thing.

I’m sure the heck ain’t gonna call you a coward, not by a long shot. Because in our situation, I may understand your dilemma and apprehension.
Although it is difficult to tell you what to do, because everyone’s situation is different, rather it be financial or home. In my case, I will say, this would be a hard one……Although I’m quite sure I know what I’d end up doing, but again everyone’s different.
Only advise I can give you is to follow your heart, then go from there.
Good Luck,
Pops
PS this is the reason we say a prayer at the end of everyday for the animals who are abandoned, homeless, in shelters and to give thanks and being grateful for what we have.

He is looking for food, poor thing.
Campground=People=Food.
He/she's just trying to survive with no comforting fellow cats or humans to help him/her.
My soul forced me to save an starving abandoned cat once found in the woods. We kept him for 15 years! Had to put him to sleep last week.
Broke our hearts, but we remember the years of love and joy we had with him.
