Hello,

We are starting to think about moving up a few years and maybe a little larger 5th wheel.

We currently have a '03 Cougar 281 Bunk House.

I have seen other bunk houses with the bunks in the front and the master bed in the rear. Pros/cons

We would like 2 or 3 slides for more room.

I would like to stay around 11-12 thousand pounds loaded if possible and around the 32' foot mark. I would also like to stay away from a full profile platform if possible.

I appreciate any thoughts or comments.

Thanks,

Take a look at a toyhauler. That's what we did. I love it and would never go back now. Bunks AND easy loading.

Cougar 322QBS is exactly what you are describing.

I like the front bunks because the kids don't need 6' of headroom to be comfortable and get dressed up there, so the mid profile keeps the RV easier to pull, and the rear bedroom offers full headroom. The 322QBS also has 3 slides, and has an 11,800# GVWR IIRC. I also like that the television is near the back bedroom and both bedrooms have doors. That way if momma and I want to watch a movie after the kids are in bed, we don't disrturb them.

Look at the Crossroads Cruiser CF31QB. It has a full queen bed in the rear with a slideout and 1/2 bath. The bunkhouse has two permanent bunks, one folding bunk plus jackknife sofa. The living area has a sleeper sofa and convertible dinette. The Cruiser is aluminum framed six sides and has bolted aluminum studs 16"OC. It is hard to beat with its two year bumper to bumper warranty, five years on the frame and 12 years on the rubber roof. Ours weighed 8,105 lbs empty and had a 3,500 + lb carry capacity. The pin weight is about 1,700 lbs. It tows easily with our 2009 Silverado 2500HD Duramax diesel. We have taken two long trips in it with six people and it is fine. If I was buying a 2011 (ours is a 2010) I would order it with 50 amp service and a second a/c unit for the bunkroom. The one 15,000 btu a/c will keep it cool. Also get the 16" tire option. It is 35' long.

Wildcat has a similar floorplan but the second bath also has a shower making a total of two.

Take a look at Keystone outback FB329. We love ours. Weighs in at 11700 well loaded. Front bunk suite, private bath/shower, 3 slides very nice. No dinette though, but we don't want one.

I have a Heartland Sundance 3300RLB. 4 "queen" beds total, triple slide, 35 feet, mid-profile, 13,000 gross weight. We love our 2011!

We just took delivery of a 2011 Forest River Cardinal 3804 four slide bunkhouse with two bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths, fireplace, corian countertops, and lots of extras.

It's heavy and larger than what you are looking for, but it's an awesome bunkhouse, well built with quality materials and excellent fit and finish.

I have mine for sale. I realize that I can not go into details here, but if you check for Durango 325BH in Milford, PA under the RV Sales of this site you will find it.

We love our front bunkhouse Spree. Big bedroom in rear and GVWR of 8800 lbs. Dual axle and truly light weight. Plus KZ's two year warranty. We still have drawers in the bedroom that are empty.
