AHHHHHHHHHH, IT's like they try their hardest to annoy you on every visit......
I sure do have to agree with you. Maybe its only the ones in FLorida but I've yet to get in and get out with out something going wrong there. Sales prices that don't ring up and when you question it they get all flippy, register people standing by the door talking while you stand waiting at the register. Go into another town and the same thing happens is downright weird.
Yesterday went there to pick up a 1lb of roasted turkey. There was a 1/2 inch dried out piece left sitting next to a full roast. I told the guy I didn't want that dried out leftover piece. Went over to the chip isle while he was cutting it, went back and when he handed it to me it WAS the dried piece that he sliced.....finished shopping and before check out I flopped the pound of dried out meat on the Mgrs. counter and asked if he'd feed that to his family? And left to check out.
I'm sure Publix is whooping their butt. The 2 stores are never far from each other.

Winn-Dixie left NC several years ago. Now the only time we even see one is when we go to Disney.

The "children" who are now the Ad-men don't know or understand the context of a lot of "boomer" songs - I heard one the other day connected to an ad (not W/D) and it was the same thing - the song was sort of "anti" the message the commercial was trying to convey....LOL!

have not seen a Winn Dixie in over thirty years.... ever since I left North Carolina....
and I have never heard of that song.... so I guess I am out of the "loop"..
Was that song a "Hippie" song in the 1960's ?
I remember that Winn Dixie was Mother's favorite grocery store back in the 1950/60's... because they gave out Green Stamps and their prices were lower than Safeway or Red & White grocery stores..

TWO CENTS WORTH
The story goes that a man died and was approached by the Devil who told him that he could buy his soul back for a dollar. The man searched his pockets and could only come up with 98 cent. While begging the Devil to forget the two cent he was short, an Angel happened by and hearing the Devil laughing, asked the man, "Would you mind if I put in my two cents ?" The Devil got so mad that he exploded in a puff of smoke and the man's soul was saved.
The moral: Sometimes putting in your two cents worth makes a difference.

We no longer have Winn-Dixie store in our area, so I have not seen the ad.

LMAO!!!...Up until yesterday, I thought the Winn Dixie was a FICTIONAL store chain, only mentioned in movies set in the south....Then I bought some briquettes at a local discount store that buys closeouts, overstocks, etc...
Yep, they had the Winn Dixie brand name on them......Soooo, are the Piggly Wiggly and Hi-Vee also REAL grocery chains?....Just wonderin'
I don't like to brag, but I can still fit into the same pair of ear rings that I wore in high school!!!!
