Has anyone else noticed what is terribly wrong with the new WinnDixie ad?
It's quite apparent they chose a song from the baby boomer era to target that market. Only thing is the marketing dept must think we all must have altziemers as far as the words to the song!
It's a commercial about how 'fresh' and 'sweet' the fruit is that they sell.
They chose the song "It's Nature's Way" as the musical background.
ONLY THING IS.....this is the first refrain to that song:
"It's nature's way of telling you somethings wrong"!
They only play the first part "It's nature's way"
If you know the song you can't help when you hear it to finish the phrase when you watch the commercial.
The ENTIRE song is about how we are killing nature with pollution/pesticides. And they decide to use it to promote their fresh and sweet fruit?
What WERE they thinking?
Listen to the song here if you need to jog your memory!

Ahhh, the memories...
Indeed, seems strange that they'd use that song to promote freshness and taste. But many ad/marketing agencies do some wierd things to get our attention.

Let's see. You know the name of the company being advertised. You know what products they were advertising. You didn't turn the channel. Yep, it must have worked.

Sadly I'm one of those that leaves the TV on all the time to get my daily does of white noise. Heard the darn song 4 times already today!

And you have taken it one step further by posting it for comment on the internet giving it even more exposure.... sounds like the ad agency has a winner.

I suspect they were saying 'we really like the price for this ad agency'. It's one of those cases where you DO get what you pay for. Try this example for size.
"I guess after watching that last commercial you have some questions. You can call us 24/7....nights and weekends too"
This is a commercial for an educational institution

Nothing surprizes me with WinnDixie. That is the only store in the world that I have never visited without getting ticked about something!!!! If I manage to get through the other petty anoyances, then the dang clerk tells me she can only give me the sale prices IF I have one of their stupid memberships......... AHHHHHHHHHH, IT's like they try their hardest to annoy you on every visit......

Funnier still ... the full "bumper sticker" slogan that Spirit ripped off for the lyric was "Death is nature's way of telling you something's wrong."
Yup, sure conjures up images of fresh and healthful foods ...

You know the words to the song. You know what store is being promoted. You know what product in that store that is being promoted. Has it made you go to that store to purchase the product in the ad? If not, then the ad is not working as expected.
