We are pretty sure our grey water valve is not working and needs replacing (the gushing water when we took off the cover cap was an enlightening indicator..and yes the valve was in closed position when the cover cap was removed).
Anyone replaced one on their RV?
What was the ballpark cost?
Did you do it yourself or get an RV place to do it?

Less than $10.00 and a DIY project. You might check and be sure that the rubber gasket is in it's groove first.

They are pretty cheap, and easy to replace with common hand tools.

If yours are controlled by a cable and remote handle, you might make sure that the cable hasn't broken or slipped first. I've repaced some that have taken 10 minutes and some that took 10 hours. Good Luck!

A couple of years ago, a road-gator took out ALL of the waste plumbing under my driver's rear corner.
I got new valves, fittings, and large dia. tube at Camping World and replaced everything myself for about $55.
B4 I got under there, I took it to a car wash and REALLY washed out that back corner!

If your valve handles are exposed (not in a compartment), and your RV was parked in a publicly accessible place, you _might_ just have been 'pranked' by someone who pulled the grey handle, then closed it.
Or you may have a bit of trash stuck in the valve's seal groove. That can cause a slow leak that accumulates behind the end cap.
The valve is cheap, but the labor if you have to pay to get it replaced could be enough to make you spend a few minutes checking out whether the valve really needs replacing first.
