If you really can't fit it, the alternative is to buy a remote head and locate the bottle elsewhere. If you call the Firefight guys they will talk your head off with install stories and probably send you a ton of pix (they did me). They say the remote head Halon was built for 5th wheel fridge cavities.
BTW- Mac sells the same equipment

Can you provide a link to a source for that extinguisher? After seeing that Bounder today, my wife was practically in tears thinking about what would happen to our dogs if it ever happened to us when we were away from the rig.
I'm a little curious as to whether the 160 degree limit will work for us though-- we live outside of Phoenix, and cars out here can reach interior temperatures of 140 degrees when they're parked in the sun. That enclosed frig compartment has to be downright toasty inside when the ambient temperature is 115 degrees and it's getting direct sun.
"Worried about dogs when away from the rig?"
That scares me as well. With all due respect, I really think it's a bad idea to leave dogs alone in a RV. If only for the reason you mentioned but also I can't count how many times I have seen and heard of power issues with campground utilities in the summer. In that area, I would be more concerned about my pets dieing from heat realated issues if the power/AC were to shut down than a refer fire.
Pets can't help themselves if a problem were to occur, just as small children couldn't and I don't think any of us would lock up our small children in a RV and go away. Just a thought.......

Well, when you fulltime there quite often isn't any choice but to leave our dogs in the rig...power can go out in a S&B too...and we all leave/have left our dogs alone at home. I'm not really sure I see the difference. Better they are in the RV then left in a car like I've seen so many times.
We have thermostats on the fantastic fans that will come on to help draw out the heat at about 78-80 degrees, in case of power failure...couldn't do that in a S&B when we left our pets.
As for small children, they we're NEVER left alone anywhere...that's a whole different situation.

I have listened to Mac's Demonstration at FMCA rallies twice.
The man seriously impresses me.. So much so I handed him money.
I highly recommend talking to him.
