Two of us have never come close to filling the black tank in a week. After 10 days, I still had to add about 15gal of water to fill it. (42gal capacity)

It's important to remember that most of the Bath sinks empty into the black tank. I suppose this is to reduce problems from too much solid matter collecting in the tank. Reducing or eliminating the use of the bathroom vanity in many cases will extend blank tank longevity.

That's a very good point. I'm going to check mine and see if I can reroute it to the gray tank if necessary, as I'm not going to eliminate the use of the bath sink.

Just did 10 days of boon docking with four adults and two kids-
Our 60 gallon black tank was maybe 1/2 full. (maybe)
Besides a great trip- it was nice to come home to my new dump station.

I added a manual valve to adjust water as needed (1/2 pint flush to whatever is needed) and also a spray wand for rinse if need be.All in all I live full time and flush tank (40gal) out once every 40 to 50 days. But this is by personal needs and choice to conserve not saying this is for every situation or person.I also made a small bio filter for grey water, just slowly flush tank over period of a day letting bio sand filter, filter out any waste.(kind of like a very small pool filter)Again this is if all factors allowed!

I like the idea someone posted about spraying a little silicone spray on the bowl. Might have to give that a try.

I too dump the grey, but we are talking remote locations, not campgrounds where somebody else is coming in right after you.

I LOVE this idea too...sorry if this is a stupid question, but where did you buy the nozzle?

The nozzle is from Lowe's or Home Depot. I think it is called a sweeper nozzle.

Amazon has it, too.

I used a rotary file to enlarge the threaded opening just enough to allow it to slip onto the kitchen sprayer you see in the picture. I roughed up the chrome sleeve a little and used Shoe Goo to hold it together.

To give the tip a little more velocity, I soldered a short length of brass tubing in the tip to reduce the diameter. I used a small tapered reamer to chamfer the inside end of the tube and deburred the outside ID with a Swiss file.

A bit of overkill, perhaps, but, hey, RVing is a hobby. It really knocks a bowl clean with just a shot glass of water. It will also blast any little mountain that tries to build up underneath, although Happy Camper liquifies things pretty well for us.
