To the LE ROYS. You should get a kick back from Home Depot. After reading your evualation and the fact that HD said if I didn't like it I could return it. I just ordered me one of those 2800 watt ones. Would be nice to have it by Wednesday because i'll be dry camping in a Forstery Service campground in N. GA for a week.

We ran it all weekend on Kentucky while camping, and it was HOT. We had it about 40' away by a shed and no one knew it was running. It did a great job keeping the A/C going and only failed to restart it after cycling one time. We ran the converter and the A/C most of the time. When the converter didn't need to be charging, and we knew the compressor would be on for long periods of time, I'd put it in Auto-Idle mode.
One thing that I am still disappointed in, is that I haven't received my manual yet from the company. I'll be calling again in a few days.
I would LOVE it if Home Depot would give me a kick back as there is NO other reviews out on the web for this unit. But I'm not going to hold my breath. If I get a chance, I'll post a review on their site about it.

just received my Lifan 2600.
after reading this post i decided to order on-line. was able to purchase for $650 + $50 shipping + 0 sales tax.
so far it works as described. it DOES run my 13,500 air conditioner.
i followed LeRoy's suggestion on how to operate correctly. follow his lead for maximum effectiveness.
bottom-line...lightweight, quiet, and efficient. and for $700, it's a great buy!
BTW...you can download a manual on-line. just do a search

Jim,
I have to throw this in here. For others. I do believe you are the true pioneer in the sound lowering dept. The beautiful box you built for the Honda is unforgettable. You are my hero. I have had an ongoing project for lowering the noise level of my Champion. Can cut the dBA down from 74 to 62. With the use of the 'quietboard' from HD.
Here is the Kicker. I am waiting for someone to report on the Lifan 2200 and running a 13,500 btu A/C. If this may be possible??? I want to order one before the end of July. And then build more sound lowering panels for the Lifan. I want to run it anywhere and not be embarrassed. So silent it could maybe be run all night.

I might be interested in a smaller wattage unit myself. All I want to do with one is to operate my ON-BOARD CONVERTER and let that re-charge my battery bank. One converter pulls 9amps the other 11amps... Only need to run one of them directly connected to a generator when camping-in-the-woods 3-4 hours a day..
My 2KW HONDA model does just great but if a cheaper model did the same thing might be interesting...
Could I stand the green color??? not sure haha..
My Posts are IMHO based on my experiences - PM/EMAIL me

An EU3000is Honda is much quieter running a 13,500 btu A/C than a 2,000 watt Honda, regardless of their dB rating. I haven't heard anything quieter in actual use. Do not confuse this model with the 3,000 watt Handi model which is only moderately quiet at best.

I'd suggest you call the folks at http://www.lifanpowerusa.com/, rather than Home Depot. They were very responsive and helpful to me. Home Depot just drop ships the generators right from the Lifan Warehouse in Arkansas, and weren't able to tell me more than was on the Home Depot website.
I just went to Lifan website and read the Company Bio. It's a huge Company and my thinking is, that a good portion of US Chinese built Inverter gens come from Lifan. I do believe the engine in my Champion C46540 is Lifan. It has Lifan part numbers. They state 'Lifan' is the largest Mfg of engines in the world. "Lifan holds 3712 Domestic and Int'l patents". They also say they are the largest privately owned Co in Chana. Sure wish we could have more owner reviews coming here on RV.Net. When the shack-out is finished, my thinking is, Lifan will be on top. ~ As an long time RV'er, this is going to be exciting to watch. So many names come and go.

Lot's of other Inverter Gen labels look to be 'Lifan' built.

the challenge for me is weight (and initial cost, of course). and the EU3000 is over 130#.
even the Handi 3000 model is 78# w/out fuel.
the Handi lists for $1900, while the EU3000 isn't much less.
that's why i opted for the Lifan 2600.
it's 68#, it powers my 13,500 air conditioner, very quiet (58 dB, inverter technology) and best of all...can be purchased for $650 (no tax, $50 shipping).
i'm very happy with it so far.
