I have a '05 Class C Minnie Winnie Winnibago and was curious if they make or could a larger fresh water tank be added?

Thanks

Hi,

The previous owner of my Class ordered it with an additional water tank. It is under the other bench seat and the tanks are tied together. The pump draws from the one closest to it.

Sure... Given enough time and money, nearly any problem can be solved (except plugging the leak!)

I built and mounted a 40 gallon auxillary fuel tank between my rear frame rails (between the hitch and the rear end). I'd expect that a water tank could be mounted there if there is no other place.

It would be a good idea to make sure that your fresh water supply does not exceed your black and grey reservoirs. Friends & family don't always what "Full" means.

Hi,

You can find replacement tanks here. But remember that you are going to add about 10 pounds per rated gallon of the tank size, including tank and water, tie downs, ect. So figure that extra40 gallons will add 400 pounds, and that can overload the front axle, or take weight off it if located behind the rear axle.

Another thought is to install a second pump. You can open the fresh water fill to put the auxillary water into the main tank, or just run the second pump by itself to pressurize the water system.

If you want a really powerful shower! you could run both pumps!

Good Luck,

Fred makes a very important point about added weight, especially if it is behind the rear axle. My rig has an underloaded front axle, so a second tank under your bench seat (which, presumably, is well forward of the axle) as Pianotuna suggests sounds like a good idea. Still, it would be that much less available CCC for other stuff.

John,
I have an '06 Minnie Winnie and also needed more fresh water capacity. I added a 30 gallon custom sized tank in the rear compartment and it's tied together with the 40 gal main tank. Since the distance between the two is close it was easy to do. I put in a valve that I can close off the extra tank if I want too. So I can fill them both or not. The main tank will fill full first and then the extra tank starts filling. So you can only fill it partially full if you want to. This setup worked best for me with the whole basement configuration on the Minnie Winnie. Any other way looked like it would be a real pain.

If your concerned about the extra weight in the rear. Move most or all of what you have that's heavy in the rear storage bay to the front bay. The front storage bay is huge!
