Thanks for your post. I bet a lot of people have traveled a similar path and would not admit it. I see crappy generators in SP all the time and the ones that don't get the family thrown out are quiet because they wont start I usually get compliments on my Honda if people know it is running at all. Fortunately, it was the first one I bought.

My AC that the Honda 2000 won't start is a Duo Therm Brisk Air 15KBTU. It draws 14.5 amps running, so 1740 watts, and the Honda is rated at 1600 watts continuous, so I am not at all surprised that it didn't start it. The thing is, the Brisk Air is a very good air conditioner, high air capacity and cools quite well.

Certainly. Results still vary.

Best to start a new thread with your specific info such as year, make model, size of air conditioner, make model of generator, elevation etc.

I would suggest the Tech Issues forum.

Bob,

I already learned from mistakes in the past about trying to save money!

I started off right, and bought the Companion!

With the idea that if I needed the 30a setup for parallel use of 2 units I would be set.

It works fine with my Polar cub 9200btu.

Thanks for the review though, it was most helpful!
