I am about to replace some gutters on my house. What is the best adhesive/sealant for connecting the ten foot section connectors for aluminum or plastic gutters?
I don't want to use silicon, since in the past , after a short period, it allows water to drip through.

I just had to repair a leak in my gutters this spring, right where the corner comes together.

The gutter company originally caulked it, then I had some roof work done and the contractor caused it to leak, he re-caulked it, but it continued to leak..

So I cleaned it up, pulled out as much of the old caulk as I could, cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and applied Eternabond tape to the joints, inside the gutter....

has not leaked since... Lot of bends and such, so I did the Eternaabond in small layered strips in some places...

My $.02 worth,

Bryan

Lowes or Home Depot has gutter sealant. It works great. It is very sticky though. Make sure your work surface is clean.

Butyl rubber is the adhesive of choice. Sometimes gutter and downspout sealant. any hardware sytore will have it in chalking gun tubes. Its a grey color and very sticky.

You could do what I did....

I called LeafGuard (if you do this please contact me for some information)

Leaf Guard makes a one-piece seamless gutter, no seams to caulk, No seams to leak, AND... Leaves do NOT go into the gutter. . They fly off and land on the ground so "Cleaning the gutter" is like washing the RV.. You just clean the dirt off what you can see.. A long handle brush and a garden hose and a bucket and some Spic and Span or whatever cleaner they tell you to use. So the annual job of climbing up there and messing with leaves... . HISTORY.
