you've probably done this, but in case not...contact the dealer you're going to and ensure they have the proper replacement AC and necessary parts so you don't get there to find out they have to order something.
The pooches will be fine in the shade somewhere with plenty of water. Anything more will be icing on the cake for them.

We're not as hot as Vegas; but our dogs and us are suffering through the mid to upper 90s with high humidity in our 190 year old house that does not have A/C.

You've got to have a widow unit in a room, right?
Living in Hawaii I never lived in a house with a central AC in it. My dad installed a window unit in his home office. This is where we'd play camping, Ma would throw out the futons and sleep when it got hot.

I would find a Hotel/Motel room. Never know what could happen, not the rights parts and etc. That way your not taking any chances. Good Luck.

If it's only going to be a few hours and my old friend Charlie will let the dogs in and you like cigars. He opened a cigar lounge in Henderson called the “Man Cave”. If interested call him.

Just throwing out some ideas.

PS Don't forget that this week end is the 4th of July and room avail may be tight.

If you have a GPS system, use it to find the closest pet boarding place. Must be a lot of them in the Vegas area. Sure would be worth it to go wherever you need to go and not worry about the dogs. Supposed to be 109° today in Las Vegas.

Go to the local Pet Smart (or the like) for whatever part of the day your rig will be worked on. You can wander in there for quite a long time...air conditioned and dog friendly! Lots of doggie stuff to look at/buy!
