We are on vacation and our A/C unit died. We talked to the manufacturer and they are going to replace the unit, but we have to go to the nearest dealer which happens to be in Las Vegas. We have our two dogs along. We are not sure what to do with them during the day when the A/C is being fixed. We know it can get quite hot in Vegas in the summer. Any suggestions on what to do with two dogs in Vegas during the day to beat the heat?
Thanks!

If you have a bath tub, fill it with some water.
You can buy a 4' diameter pool at Wal Mart for less than $40. Or a inflatable kiddy pool that you can take with you when done with it, if the dog's claws did not distroy the pool bottom.
Most RV parks will not let you take a dog near the pool, let alone inside it.
Why not see if there is a cooler area along your route that can change the air conditioner? Where you thinking about going to LA or Salt Lake City? Or Reno? Reno is actually a fairly high altitude, so it does not get nearly as hot as Las Vegas, or as known at my work, Lost Vages.
You could check with a local dog groomer, and see if they will watch them for the day, and perhaps for only the cost of a bath.
Rent a room in a pet friendly motel?
Good Luck,
Fred.

If the dogs are with you at the dealer. Find a good shade spot and have lots of water with you. The AC shouldn't take long to install.
Should you need a place to overnight (or stay at while the AC is installed), Depends what area your in in Vegas (I would assume your probably be somewhere on Boulder Highway) there’s a motel 6 at Desert Inn and Boulder highway. If you’ve got a toad with you, there’s a motel 6 on E. Tropicana and Koval Ln. (better then the one on Dean Martin).
I’m suggesting motel 6 since that’s about the only dog friendly place to stay (there are a few others if your dog is under 20 lbs., I think). Although not the best places/areas in town.

Edit: forget about walking the dogs at the vacant lot, since it's not that safe.

The dogs go with you till it's fixed. That way if you survive heat they will too.

If you decide to go to the Motel 6, book it online, you'll get a better rate. I suggest the one on Tropicana, pretty nice rooms and walking distance to some of the major casinos.

Whatever you do, make sure you address the situation before you do this. The heat in Vegas is not to be trifled with and in the course of a day could easily kill a human or a dog who isn't prepared for it. Even first thing in the morning will be quite unpleasant. You don't want to get caught in the heat with nowhere to go or no way to get there. With just humans there are lots of places to go... with the dogs I'd recommend getting a room or making some kind of arrangement with a groomer or daycare place.
Unless of course the dealer has a/c and you can stay inside there with the dogs. I've been to an auto repair place where they were quite willing to have the dogs in the waiting area, out of the heat. Might be worth asking.

The dealer will have an air conditioned show room and waiting rooms. Most likely the entire inventory of Jayco's will be under cover and refrigerated. I'm sure your doggies will be welcome!
Johnny Walkers Jayco Dealer in Las Vegas, for example...or in Carson City Carson's RV. Hang out, have some free donuts and coffee and relax!
Good luck!
