We have a Coachmen Chaparral 355.
It has a 45 gallon fresh water tank that fills via the pressurized city water hookup and the correct positioning of 2 valves.
We boondock a lot. About 90% of our camping is without a pressurized water hook up. Our trailer has 4 45 gallon waste water tanks. (1 kitchen, 1 rear bathroom, 1 shower/sink, 1 front bathroom)
How could I fill the fresh water tank manually ? There is no manual fill "spout".
Thanks

Not sure on yours, but we put the city water hose in bucket and use the pump to draw in the water. We have valves for that application. Maybe you do too?

On ours I turn the pump off, turn the city/fill valve to fill. Then turn the winterize valve to by-pass then turn on the pump, draw my water via the winterizing hose and it will fill the freshwater tank.

We go to a couple bluegrass festivals. You can usually get elec at these festivals but water is usually located at one or two central places.
I bought a surplus 50 gal fresh water tank my local dealer had for $25. They were stuck with it after someone order it then bailed on them.
I also bought a bottom of the line 12v pump. Fastened it to a piece of 2x6 & attached a small toggle switch & a 30’ pair of wires with spring loaded clips on the end.
If/when I need water I drive to the faucet fill up & back to the camper. Hook the jumpers to the 5er battery & pump the water into the tank.
It has also turned into a lucrative side business at the festivals.
I charge a beer or two from everyone that stops me asking if I can fill them up next.
When I had the popup we used a small pump that fit in the chuck of a cordless drill. We only had an 11 gal tank back then. Trying to fill a 50+ gal tank that way & you’d run down the battery after one fill.

Will this fill the fresh water tank or does it just supply water to the rest of the trailer ?
Our trailer did not come with a plumbing diagram. It would be extremely helpful if it did.
How does one put anti freeze into the fresh water tank on these trailers ?
Thanks

You do not want to fill the fresh water tank with antifreeze!!!
Unless you want to waste $200+.
When you drain the fresh water tank at the end of the season there may be a pint or so of water left in the tank. This is no big deal. Your valve system will bypass the fresh tank & hotwater heater & use the pump to run the antifreeze just through the lines & faucets. If you do not have the documentation for winterizing, call your manufacture & ask them for a copy.

Do you mean to say that you don't have a fresh water filler inlet on the outside of your trailer. I have never seen an RV without one. You can see it on mine to the left of the Canadian flag. Just unscrew the cap, stick in the hose and turn it on till the tank is full.

Most newer campers have a water management system.
Our last two campers had this mgt system. 06 Coachmen class A & a 2010 Sierra 356RL.
One city water type inlet & a bunch of valves to make filling & winterizing a lot easier.
The one drawback is with all the valves & check valves, your flow rate can be compromised.
I’d take a picture of mine but I’m at work & really should be working…

If they didn't provide a place to manual fill your tank I would say yes moving the valves to the proper position will draw water from a bucket(or ?) into your water tank. It may show you how at the valves or call the company or visit the dealer for advice. Use same valves different position to winterize lines.

You haven't been paying attention. My 5er is 11 years old and only has a selector valve on the city water hookup. One fills the freshwater tank and the other position provides city water to the RV. I have often thought about plumbing a fill tube to it, not for boondocking but because adding bleach to sanitize the tank is such a hassle. I do not believe the pump will suck water from a pail into the system, but I have never tried.
