Hi everyone. We have just a 2 night slot of time to get away. We will leave on a Sunday morning and head home Tues. afternoon. Living in Central Virginia, we'd like to get away and just drive no more than 3 hours. We were considering Greys Point as it is on the river and since we live in the mountains, we'd like to be near salt water. We are open to suggestions. We'd love to fish or catch crabs and if we cannot catch crabs, find someplace nearby to eat crabs. Any comments on the sites at Greys Point? Shade, pull thrus etc.

Go to Beth Page if you can get in. It's about 20 miles away and is the sister camground to Grey's Point. IMHO the location is a little bettter
We stayed at Grey's Point several years ago for the Urbana Oyster Festival and it is a nice campground, but as I remember it, the sites with water view are for the seasonals.

While in Urbana, stop by and see if the little ice cream shop is still downtown. Moderate prices, BIG portions.

We just left Bethpage today. There are no waterfront transient sites. Only for permanent sites.

We don't care for Beth Page when we stopped by. It reminded me of an old drive in movie parking lot. Will look into Cherrystone though and possibly Westmoreland State Park too. Thanks.

No. Don't stay at Grey's Point or Beth Page. Both owned by the same guy. Mostly seasonal residents and there are no daily sites on the water at either location. Lots of golf carts, parties, crowded, and overpriced.
Now, that's fresh!

I you didn't like Bethpage, then you won't like Grey's Point either.
