It is a not ready for prime time piece. But someone has to be first with features. I think the telling story is smartphones can easily stretch the limits of technology in regard to battery use. The question one needs to ask is whether batteries will make enough advances to accommodate the technology. Steve Jobs took Flash head on in criticism. If more efficient less battery draining video results from that by better adopted standards or Adobe just getting off their duffs and improving then maybe everyone should thank him. Of course the other approach is to put Flash capability out there and let the public make the same conclusions Jobs came to.

I have one of the HTV EVO 4G phones that I picked up last week. I replaced a BlackBerry 8330 with it. All of the things mentioned in the above article are true even the battery life, but an aftermarket company that I have used before has a battery coming (1 week out) that will increase the battery life by a factor of 2.3. I did the same thing with the BlackBerry a few years ago and it worked great. Yes I know some don't like the thicker battery sticking out the back, but I like it. It gives me something to grip and makes the phone easier to hold.

So far, I like the HTC EVO a lot. (I'm not a youngster either, I'm retired).
