this is (was) a real nice place to stay, it's a shame it is going downhill fast. 550 sites 20, 30, 50 amp sites, most with sewer and water. owner died wife took over and will not upgrade. good manager and tries hard but is getting harder for him every year. 2011 may be the last year to be open. I spent the weekend there and not many campers. maybe 12 or so. they had maybe two or three hundred on Mem weekend. sure wish someone would buy this place and keep it going.

I saw this camground online before when searching for places. Looked nice. Thanks for the update. Maybe someone will see your post and buy it.

We were there about 3 years ago, and it was not too bad then. It didn't look as if it was being too well taken care of in spots then, but we have not been back there in that area since that time. It could be a pretty large CG in an area that has a fair amount of things to do nearby.

The Pottery was selling some land off not long ago and I was in great hopes that it was selling the campground. I pass by almost daily and agree that it could be the best campground in Williamsburg and surrounding area. It has the land and could be a 4 star campground with the right owner. Sad thing.
I do have my own dream of owning it one day, but they say if you love to camp, don't purchase a campground. I feel that would be true words.

We used to stay there years ago when we had season passes for Busch Gardens and you are right it was nice. It was a great place nearby and was always busy it is a shame what has happened to it,I agree that it would be a good place in a high tourist area that could become a class campground.

We stayed at the Pottery Factory CG a little over 7 years ago, and I thought it was starting to slide then already. Yes, people were nice but the place could have used a sprucing up then already. Since then we've been to the KOA and American Heritage. Really prefer the latter CG. As others have already said if somebody comes along and invests the right amount of money in the right improvements it could be the crown jewel of the area.

I agree with all that has been said about this campground. We used to stay there all the time when going to Williamsburg. 20- 30 years ago it was the best in the area. I can't count the number of times we stayed there. It's got to be over ten years now that the place has just gotten worse every time we drive thru to see if it's improved.
I am sure that it could be a great place again but it's gone so far down hill that you would have to almost tear it down and start over.
