No gens in states parks where I camp.
Now I remember why we don't stay in State Parks. That and the fact they don't trim the trees, and scratch the hello out of my paint. Oh yeah, it's hard to get Sat. signal thru the rest of the trees. Robbie

Lots of different camping for lots of different folks! Personally, I will always have a gas oven. 80% of our camping is w/o hookups, and I do not own a generator, so no microwave, for us the microwave is a breadbox! Both my DW and I bake and cook, so the oven gets used at least once a trip, if not once a day. Home made pizza, cookies, biscuits, cinnamon rolls, or cornbread to go with home made chili. YUM! I have broiled steaks in it that come out good (ever try to tend a fire with 4, 2 1/2 and 1 1/2 year olds? More work than it is worth)
When you are cooking a nice meal for a family of 5 (or more with G&G) you need every inch of cooking space. I take personal pride on my ability to no only cook well, but have all parts of the meal finish at the same time so the whole meal is hot when served. This means utilizing all available cooking surfaces. Bacon turns out great when placed on a broiler pan in the oven at 400. I can lay out over half a pound in nice flat strips on the broiler pan, while using the 3 burners for the potatos veggies and omlets. Or I can use it to keep pancakes or french toast warm while finishing the next batch.
If you can't tell, we love our oven because of our camping style. I would never consider a RV that did not have an oven or the capability to retrofit one. But I certainly can see how others camping/traveling styles would make it useless.

My DW wouldn't allow me to own an RV without an oven......or a 3 burner cooktop.

I had forgotten about bacon. Without a real ove, how else would you cook it? Surely not in that overgrown toaster? If you COOK, there really is no substitute for a real oven.

My B700 had a regular 4-burner stove with a real oven (not the tiny RV stove/oven), my Genesis will have the same. If the oven makes the interior too hot, you need better insulation, bigger A/C, or both.

Who cares, I don't eat bacon!
(But I suspect the answer might be "in a frying pan"!)

I'm pretty sure bacon doesn't know the difference between 400 degrees of electric heat and 400 degrees of gas heat.

No but the inside of the microwave sure knows the amount of cleanup necessary.....Besides, the turntable is too small to cook much bacon.
A frying pan for bacon. Now there's an idea for an all day clean up, miserable uneven bacon. Gave up that out dated way of cooking the stuff years ago as soon as I was shown better.
