While perusing RV websites for the roomiest Sprinter Class C's, I found this Siesta 24SB. This specific plan has the cab over bunk with a sofa bed, exceptionally large kitchen/pantry and 42 gallon freshwater tank, which is the largest I have found for Sprinter Class C.

The Prism M240 has a rear queen slide with a unique layout. The 23 gallon freshwater tank is very small, but this Prism is unique.

Do any of you Class C forum regulars know of any roomier Sprinter Class C floorplans?

Hi,

I saw one RV with a slide-out rear bedroom, you open the two rear doors and the bedroom slides out a couple of feet. I thought that was a great idea.

I don't know if any of them have dual slides, that would make a nice option.

Maybe an oversimplification, but I expect the roomiest Sprinter would also be the heaviest one, with the least CCC & towing capacity, which are the areas they're supposedly most challenged in.

that coachmen link copied that from Winnie. but I agree, the carrying capacity was so low to begin with these slides would make it worse, but liveable.

We saw a WinTasca where the rear queen was also the sofa/lounge. There was a foldout or slideout extension and when open it allowed the bed to go out to its full size. I liked it till I realized the queen had to be folded to get the extension back in. That ruled it out for me. I wanted a bed, ideally queen, ideally island, that didn't have to be broken down and set up every day.
Back to the M240, I like it. If the C we just upgraded from had any form of fixed bed down, we would have kept it, even if it was a "full corner" bed. Since we were changing coaches anyway, we held out for Island Queen. Again back to M240, something gets given up in any coach this small. They gain the island queen by using the slideout, but give up spaciousness in front of the sofa that M220 has but settles for a corner full bed.

Those equipment specs come very close to the ones for my 24 foot Ford E450 (1 1/2 ton rated chassis) Class C motorhome with a very similar (but non-slideout dinette) layout. However, my layout does have one kindof important addition that the Fourwinds Sprinter lacks - a fully rotating/sliding lounge chair just to the right of the entrance door.

Regarding the Sprinter chassis:

- I believe the largest Sprinter chassis is their 3500 rear dual series - only a 1 ton rated chassis.

- What is the rear track (width) of the 3500 Sprinter as measured to the outside edge of each rear dual? Probably somewhat less than the E450 Ford. This will make the Sprinter less stable ("tip & rock" more) on curves, in cross winds, and when vehicles pass.

Try 4.5 tons. You must work for Dodge if you think the 3500 is a "1 ton". My 2500 is good for almost two.

I had nearly 6000 lbs. of rock (measured on a rock quarry scales) on my "F250" 1965 Ford PU once. That old war horse had 15 or 16 leaves in each rear spring. The front wheels nearly lived off the road when driving up my uphill driveway with that load in compound low gear!

As old time/old school truckers know: 15/150/1500 = a "1/2 ton" truck, 25/250/2500 = a "3/4 ton" truck, 35/350/3500 = a "1 ton" truck, and XX?/450/4500 = a "1 1/2 ton" truck.

Hence - relating to the OP's issue - for approximately the same (heavy) MH box, the "3500" Sprinter would not drive/handle as well and safely as a "XX?/450/4500" rated chassis carrying the same MH box.

One of the RV magazines out now has a review of a sprinter based C where the queen bed folds into the wall (called a murphy bed) that provides more room. I kinda thought the name of the maker was "travel way" (not pleasure way) but google is leading me to doubt that.

Found it: http://www.leisurevans.com/unity/index.html
