Here you go...it looks complicated, but it it isn't. Take it step by step. Make sure you load your truck and trailer as if you were leaving for a trip....people, toys, gear, extra kitchen sink....

Also check the FAQ section. Check the yellow pages under truck stops and find one that advertises CAT scales. They are set up to do all the different weights you need.

I use my small towns grain elevator platform scales. They leave the scales on 24/7 with a large LED readout that the drives can see. Other places to weigh may be a land fill scale or a transfer van storge warehouse/etc.

Weigh your truck without the trailer first by each axle. Then repeat the process when the truck and trailer are hooked and fully loaded. The trucks front axle may or may not gain weight. The difference in the two rear axle weights will be your pin weight number on the trucks rear axle/tires.

Side to side axle weight numbers aren't necessary but may be handy if one of the trailers tires has a wear issue.

Just make sure your getting the trucks front and the rear axle weights seperatly. A single gross weight doesn't tell you your axle weight numbers or how much pin weights on the rear axle. Be specific with the scale operator that you want the trucks front and rear axle weights seperate.

That is exactly the first step in the process on our website! From there it is just doing the math and checking against the numbers on your door panels!
